Belly Draggers Ranch is a nonprofit sanctuary specializing in the rescue and
care of potbellied pigs. The sanctuary is located in San Martin, CA, approximately
70 miles south of San Francisco.
Mission Statement
Belly Draggers Ranch is a nonprofit sanctuary dedicated to house and care for
abandoned and unwanted potbellied pigs; aid in the placement of homes for unwanted
potbellied pigs through adoption; provide the general public with information
on responsible care and ownership of a potbellied pig; engage in activities
to promote the welfare and betterment of the potbellied pig as a family
pet.
Our policies
Belly Draggers Ranch adheres to a strict spay/neuter policy. We do not
breed pigs. Intact boars are neutered prior to coming to our facility
and kept in quarantine until we are sure breeding can’t occur. We
do not sell pigs. Occasionally we adopt pigs to good homes, but
only after a thorough screening process and a home check.
How We Operate
Until the year 2002, Belly Draggers Ranch was supported only by our
own funds. We decided to go nonprofit so that anyone wishing
to donate money or items would be able to write it off on their
income tax.
We are constantly networking with other rescues, shelters and pig owners to
help place as many unwanted pigs as possible.
